A man accused of killing a 28-year-old woman at a hotel in Newcastle has been arrested.

A man who killed his 28-year-old wife with a hotel pillow has been sentenced to 12.5 years in prison.

On December 6, Sung Hurt Fong Pek, 51, killed Ying Ling at the County Aparthotel in Newcastle.

The Newcastle Crown Court learned that the Singaporean couple were on vacation when Fong killed his 51-year-old wife.

He was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to murder at his trial.

A couple traveling in Europe traveled to Newcastle to watch one of their sons attend the city's university.

Fong told the court he was "furious" when he threw his wife on the bed and covered her face with a pillow just hours before arriving in Paris.

He required hospitalization after several falls during the trip and was unhappy with his wife's comments about the lack of care.

Prosecutors say he hit her "not to offend, intimidate or keep silent."

Newcastle investigator Paul Sloan QC cited a report on the night of the murder in which one of the couple's sons told his mother not to "annoy" her husband.

“Your wife disobeyed your son’s advice because you were so worried about your life,” Judge Fong said.

“When you return to your room, you are in great pain and feel unwell, you are exhausted physically and mentally.

"Your wife must be worried and worried, she hasn't given it up."

The judge said he was not condoning what had happened, but "it may come across in an imperfect and imperfect way to a normally loving, caring, protective, patient and caring person."

According to him, the killing would have taken "minutes, not seconds."
"I pray."
Aloysius, one of the couple's sons, read a statement in court saying that he and his three brothers "lost both parents at the same time" and added, "My whole family is suffering."

“They also consider my father as their son and want him to return safely to Singapore when they see him.

"We regret what happened here in Newcastle."

She added: “My boyfriend and I have always considered our family relationship a value, and that hasn’t changed.

"Anyone who knows them can see them pray."

Inflating the situation, Toby Headworth QC said Fong was confused, shocked and devastated and didn't understand how he could do something like that.
